Our honey is like wine

Polar-Honey Finland (Lappi-Hunaja) is Finland's best-known honey producer. The Finnish apiarist association has awarded us its highest distinction given to beekeepers, "Apiarist of the Year". Our honeys have received many awards and our Lingonberry honey has been voted "Best Honey in Finland".

We have 300 bee hives all over the country, from western Finland all the way up to the Arctic Circle. During the summer months, our 15 million honey specialists fly about 12 billion kilometers and produce about 20,000 kilograms of honey.

A novice might think that honey is just honey; it comes in liquid or crystallized form, but always looks and tastes pretty much the same. Indeed, though you might look for subtle and distinctive flavours in basic grocery store honey, you will search in vain, since basic honey consists of nectar from tens or hundreds of types of flowers.

But we at Polar Honey produce our honey differently. To us, honey is like wine. To some wine is simply red or white, but connoisseurs will seek out the best quality products, in which they will discover an abundance of distinctive and exciting flavours.

Polar-Honey Finland has also conquered the market in central Europe with the brand name Arktischer-Honig Finnland, and has become the most well-known Finnish honey brand. About 80 percent of our production is exported.
