Polar Honey’s country store is located on the same site as our office and production facilities. The history of the site goes all the way back to the 17th century, when the Pyörni estate was the largest in Lappi, comprising thousands of hectares. The current country store building is about 120 years old and was renovated to its current form in the 1920s. Pyörni is a culturally significant historic conservation site, and the landmark of the village Lappi.

Our 230 square metre store offers you a wide selection of our honey products, as well as other locally produced goods:

•   Honey and flavoured honey

•   Cosmetics

•   Business gifts

•   Handicrafts by local artisans

•   Children's products and toys

Whether you buy for yourself or as a gift, our wide selection of products, ranging from single jars of honey to stylish gift sets, is bound to offer you the perfect combination of our products. You can also build your own gift set, including other vendors’ products with our honey.

We present: "The Sweet Life of a Bee"

This interesting presentation, available by reservation, will lead you into the fascinating world of bees and honey production. Included in the package is a tasting of our various exotic honeys, and coffee or tea with a honey-flavoured pastry.

In our café you can also observe the busy life of bees in our glass beehive.

The World Heritage Site in Sammallahdenmäki and Old Rauma

Our country store also serves as the information center for the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sammallahdenmäki. The Bronze Age grave site at Sammallahdenmäki, marked by large stone cairns, is located in Kivikylä, only 3 kilometres from our country store in Lappi. The Sammallahdenmäki cairns were named a World Heritage Site in December 1999, and were the first pre-historic remains in Finland to be added to the list. These magnificent relics from the Bronze Age and the well-preserved landscape of moss-covered rock in which they are located form a valuable whole.

A second UNESCO World Heritage Site can be found in the town of Rauma, about 18 kilometres from Lappi. Old Rauma is the largest and most uninterrupted wooden town dating from the middle ages. Old Rauma is not only a museum, but also a living, functioning area of the town.
